Profile of Allan Clark

My name is  Allan Clark, I’ve been living in South Wales for almost 15 years after signing for Cardiff City way back in 1994- 95 where I spent just over two years, of which I totally enjoyed playing under Phil Neal , from whom I learned a lot about the game. During this time I was fortunate to play against some of the greatest players around both past and present, such as Anelka, Lampard, Rio Ferdinand , Paul Merson, Ryan Giggs, and even Peter Shilton. The list goes on. These memories I will always have.

I played for Watford prior to this for almost three years learning my trade as a youngster under Kenny Jacket who taught me so much about the game. I spent spells as a youngster at many clubs including West Ham Utd, Charlton, QPR, Tottenham, and even had a trial spell at Arsenal but sadly didn’t make the grade. I captained London at under 11’s 12s 14s and under 16s/ 17s before making my move to Wales.

I was also lucky enough to play at the great stadium that was Highbury and managed to get a goal at each end of that great stadium.

I played in the league of Wales up until around 4 years ago, when I was forced to retire due to a serious back injury that resulted in surgery and early retirement from the game that I love, which brought me into coaching!.

I have supported Arsenal all my life and for me now to have the opportunity to coach children and pass on my knowledge of the game and to work with such a big club is truly a dream come true. I take great pride in delivering coaching drills and sessions that I feel will bring on not only the children’s overall game, but also their confidence and ability to communicate with one and other. Most of all that they enjoy the game and take on board what myself and all the other coaches are trying to get across.

My words of advise are listen to your coaches, listen to your body, be honest and fair, and most of all enjoy your time playing football.
